LOS ANGELES — The Passion for Christ Movement, P4CM, will be holding its 9th annual Rhetoric on August 7th at Cottonwood Church located at 44505 Katella Ave in
Los Alamitos, CA. With well over 3500 in attendance (and even more viewing over the web), Rhetoric is the world’s largest (and livest) poetry event with participants travelling from across the globe to attend.
Each performance at Rhetoric will correspond with the theme, Real & Raw, exploring subjects not traditionally discussed in Christian circles. Previous year’s poems addressed topics ranging from sexual molestation and abuse to overcoming homosexuality, AIDS, losing to cancer, self-worth and more.
“If we want to change the world, we have to be willing to speak boldly about matters others are too uncomfortable to address,” said Adrianne Chivers, P4CM’s head of production. “This year’s show will encourage Christians to be ‘Real & Raw’, regardless of their circumstance”, she added.
Delivering this truth, will be P4CM’s official poets, Jackie Hill Perry, Janette…Ikz, Ezekiel, Preston Perry, Jose Palos and many more. There will also be musical performances by Leah Smith – most known for her song “Beautifully Made.” (more…)

July 7, 2015 — Fans of WE tv’s hit series, Braxton Family Values, have witnessed the up’s and down’s between the sisters’ for the past four seasons. This week, arguments and emotions come to a head resulting in family matriarch Miss E’s call in for reinforcements.
Evelyn’s heartbreak and frustration at her daughters’ fighting reaches a tipping point and she calls in trusted friend and well-known spiritual advisor Bishop T.D. Jakes. The senior pastor of The Potter’s House of Dallas will sit down with the family including both parents, for two very emotional episodes that begin airing this week.
“The Braxton’s are an immensely talented, and loving family bogged down by a series of lingering wounds, misunderstandings, and disappointments that have robbed them of the harmonious union and close-knit bonds that they once shared,” said Bishop T.D. Jakes, senior pastor of The Potter’s House of Dallas. “Sitting down with the family as a group and in one-on-one settings, we were able to achieve some dynamic breakthroughs that their loyal fans will be delighted to watch unfold. This is truly can’t-miss TV.”
Bishop Jakes provided the family with a safe environment that ignited a conversation that was open, honest, and sometimes uncomfortable but in the end worthwhile.
Tune in this week to see the Part One on Thursday, July 9th at 9pm EST on WE tv.
