Voices Reign United at GMA Dove Awards

Atlanta, GA- (April 19, 2012) –

Powerful voices ruled the night and multicultural unity took center stage at the Gospel Music Association (GMA)’s 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards at the FOX Theatre in Atlanta with a blockbuster show that reached new heights.  Choirs, where so many of today’s leading music artists first got their start, stepped out of the background and into the spotlight throughout the night’s performances.  To bring to life the theme of “Voices,” The Tenors made their Dove Awards debut as the first classical group to ever perform at the awards, with two of Gospel’s biggest icons:  Yolanda Adams and Donnie McClurkin.  The evening featured a show-stopping performance by American Idol break-out stars Danny Gokey, Mandisa, Phil Stacey and Ruben Studdard paying homage to the role of faith in their lives with classics ranging from Lean on Me to Send Me An Angel. Lecrae gets top honors at 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 20, 2012) – Grammy-nominated hip-hop artist Lecrae (Reach Records), walked away with top honors this evening at the 43rd Annual GMA Dove Awards (www.doveawards.com). Garnering two Dove’s in major categories, Lecrae won Rap/Hip Hop Song of the Year: “Hallelujah,” (Rehab) and Rap/Hip Hop Album of the Year: Rehab: The Overdose.

In addition to his Dove Award wins, Lecrae also took the stage for a special award show performance alongside Dove nominated artist and label mate Tedashii. Both joined the powerhouse talent that included special appearances by Natalie Grant, Donnie McClurkin, Jason Crabb, Jamie-Grace, Kim Burrell, Kari Jobe, Danny Gokey, Ruben Studdard, Mandisa and more.
