Deitrick Haddon Remixes A Classic Christmas Film

Posted by: YLR Gospel News http://www.yeslordradio.com

There has been much buzz around Deitrick Haddon and his recent remixes of several secular songs, but his love for remixes is also evident in his current film “A Beautiful Soul”.

Loosely based off of the classic Christmas films, “It’s a Wonderful Life and “A Christmas Carol”, A Beautiful Soul puts a modernized twist on the timeless story of second chances.

It should come as no surprise that Haddon has an artistic knack for recreating classic songs and films. Haddon’s film “A Beautiful Soul” is an inspired combination of both films and their themes of how important it is to value family and our own individual blessings.  In “A Beautiful Soul”, Haddon stars as Andre Stephens, an arrogant R&B star who seems to have it all but has completely lost sight of what is most important.  After a traumatic event, Stephens is forced to examine his ways and make the ultimate decision that could change the course of his life forever. In this interview Terrell speaks on who some of his musical influences where, how and when he got his start singing.  Also, who were his favorite artists to perform with and who he would love to work with the most.

Growing up in a family of musicians, who were some of your musical influences?

Terrell Taylor:  Some of my biggest influences as a child were Andre Crouch, The Hawkins Family; really those two and of course The Winans, Commissioned, and Fred Hammond.  There were some great influences on me through my teen years.

How did you first start playing instruments? Was it more because of your family, or something you found on your own?
