"If You See Something, Say Something"

Genesis 3:1-6

1 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, but God did say, ‘You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die.’”

“You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

My brothers and sisters, most recently, the Department of Homeland Security launched a national campaign entitled, “If You See Something, Say Something™”. This campaign was created with the purpose to raise public awareness of terrorist attacks. According to DHS.gov, Factors such as race, ethnicity, and/or religious affiliation are not considered suspicious. Furthermore, the site suggests that only suspicious activity such as unattended backpacks or someone breaking into a restricted area will be relayed to the governing authorities.

Homeland Security continues by defining suspicious activity in 3 ways:

  • #1 Unusual situations: i.e.: A window/door is open that is usually closed
  • #2 Eliciting information: i.e.: A person questions individuals at a level beyond their own curiosity about a building’s purpose, operations, security procedures and/or personnel shift changes, etc.
  • #3 Observation/surveillance: i.e: Someone pays unusual attention to an area. This includes extended loitering without explanation (particularly in concealed locations); unusual, repeated, and/or prolonged observation of a p (e.g., with binoculars or video camera); taking notes or measurements; counting paces; sketching floor plans, etc.

Well today family, I woke up with one purpose in my spirit, and that is to REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY! Someone has been terrorizing God’s PEOPLE…. and his name is satan. For some he has terrorized their homes and family members. For others, satan has invaded their jobs and financial situations. People of God, if the enemy has been terrorizing your family and friends, TODAY is the perfect opportunity to REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY!

We learned some very significant things in Genesis, the 3rd chapter. satan, a certified terrorist has begun to inquire while loitering in a restricted areas! We learned that, a very important conversation develops, but the ONE who is accountable for the decision, says absolutely nothing. For the first time in creation, we are able to see what a suspicious situation looks like AND what happens when we say absolutely nothing. We say nothing when our communities are struggling with drugs, alcohol, and promiscuity but we enable our children to embrace the culture that validates them all. We say nothing when we continue to sin within our hearts, while ignoring the voice of God and working toward a path of redemption. We say ABSOLUTELY NOTHING, when we go to church week after week, but we never offer the same message of HOPE that is extended toward us. I wonder how many people will share this blog to someone who is experiencing terrorism within their own garden? BUT FAMILY, there is Good news, by way of the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Jesus shares in Matthew 11:28-30:

28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.

29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.

30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

Let’s take this Wisdom Walk together……Jesus says, HEY GOOD PEOPLE, come to ME (Matthew 11:28a). In other words, report SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY and I will give you REST! Allow me to handle what you are not yet strong enough to endure alone. When terror strikes, we are to be like the Jedi Knights of Star Wars, ordered to serve and become the guardians of peace and justice here on earth (A must see new movie). Someone may be asking; how do we report what we see? The answer to that question is rather easy. Report ALL SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY through prayer, fasting, and righteousness by faith. God wants us to come to him and only THEN will we be able to find rest.

"GOOOOOO!"

16 Then the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain where Jesus had told them to GOOOOOO. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him; BUT SOME DOUBTED. 18 Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” ~ Matthew 28:16-20

To be honest, I still STRUGGLE with how Dylann Roof sat in a AME church for AN HOUR, having been exposed to the power of PRAYER & FELLOWSHIP, and still tragically take the lives of prayer warriors…. but Today, I have a better understanding after revisiting what we know as The Great Commission.

Some of us are walking close to Jesus FOR YEARS, but we still DOUBT! We meet up and FELLOWSHIP as usual, but DOUBT! Claim to love each other, perform our daily rituals, and wake up daily as if someone owes us, and still DOUBT! We treat or children and support system as modern day slaves, wanting and needing more, but STILL DOUBT…….… and because we have DOUBT, we MISSED the MESSAGE!!!!

Here is the GOOD NEWS… God STILL has ALL POWER! Beyond our DOUBTs, He is ABLE! Beyond our DOUBTs, God has a plan for those who GOT IT! Beyond our DOUBT, He’s STILL preaching and developing disciples who GOT IT! , even when you don’t read your word while DOUBTING! Don’t DOUBT the TRUTH you’ve been EXPOSED to. If you’re reading this, KNOW that you have time to GET THIS!! Got IT? Now get back to WORK! #ImGrateful #iWinInHim #Dreamer #TheGreatCommission

"THEY WILL, HAVE A CHOICE! (Modern Day Children)"

WHAT HAPPEN to our young people these days?????? They are TOTALLY out of control, what went wrong through the years?????? Don’t you agree??? Okay, that was a trick question.  If you agree that our youth are totally out of control with no hope for the future, it is imperative for you to read further. The real question is WHAT HAPPEN TO US PARENTS THESE DAYS????? WE are TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL, so what went wrong through out the years? Where did we go wrong?

Family and friends from near and far, I have come to the conclusion that we are malfunctioning COLLECTIVELY as parents! Yes, all of us!!! What happened to the synergistic family oriented environments that were more common when we were growing up?  I remember being absolutely horrified to do something wrong, on either side of my block, because my neighbors were just as fierce as my parents and there was nowhere to hide. I found out years later, they were all WORKING TOGETHER to keep us in line. How about that????

The purpose of this message is to spark one key fundamental that is missing in our present day struggle as parents for all children…… Smack your neighbor’s child when they act up, show not pity until their parents arrive from work, then tell the whole story, the way it REALLY happened, so it will increase the percent of that child getting another beating from their own parents!!!!! WOW, that sounds so cruel today, but this was the way we learned how to respect our neighbors; even though they had permission to beat us at anytime. Now days, we are so personal and protective with our children and when they show off, we make excuses for them which ultimately enables them to misbehave.

My prayer today is to help ME become a better parent / guardian, for all children!!! The bible teaches us in Proverbs 22:6 “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not turn from it.”. So often we personalize this scripture for our own children, but if you are gifted enough to retain the attention of a child, who doesn’t listen to anyone else but you, give that child a CHOICE! The CHOICE to better than what statistics may illustrate.  Listen to them, encourage them, and correct them when necessary! While we can’t beat our neighbor’s children anymore, as it was done to us growing up, we can still help give all children a CHOICE to succeed and live beyond what we have accomplished! If we allow them to show off, THEY WILL.….. But if we teach them better, they will HAVE A CHOICE……

"Man Law OR Man’s Law"

Romans 3:20-28 (NLT) “20 For no one can ever be made right with God by doing what the law commands. The law simply shows us how sinful we are. 21 But now God has shown us a way to be made right with him without keeping the requirements of the law, as was promised in the writings of Moses[i] and the prophets long ago. 22 We are made right with God by placing our faith in Jesus Christ. And this is true for everyone who believes, no matter who we are.  23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus. 27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on obeying the law. It is based on faith. 28 So we are made right with God through faith and not by obeying the law.”

Romans 3:20-28 (NLT)

I am convinced! God’s way is nothing like our way. His thoughts are not like our thoughts. As Christians, we should collectively stop attempting to speak for God. More specifically, if it isn’t for the purpose of saving souls or building his kingdom, we should reevaluate our motives and change our language to exemplify that purpose only. A certified theologian is simply someone who studies God, not his people. Any other form of interpretation or illusion of religious practices, is breaking, “Man Law”!

Traditionally, we know the term “Man Law” as the act of  violating or going against a man’s masculinity. I would present today, in the spirit realm, too many souls are lost and have become casualties  of Man Law violations. Man Law has less to do with man’s ego and more to do with God’s plan for our lives.

Today, make a choice to learn every Man Law! If you are a victim a Man Law violation, search the scriptures and find what his word says concerning your life. Sometimes we surrender to the voice of man and not his laws. Once you separate the two, it becomes further away from what God intended.

While Man Law is clearly defined throughout scripture, we all have found ourselves somewhere in violation. Yes, we have all fallen short at some point in our life. A good friend mentioned we should be careful of becoming prisoners of the “Church”. Great words from a great man of God! On the other side of the coin, I also believe we have a responsibility that comes with being part of the church (not the community church, but God’s people). That responsibility includes understanding the law of our land, as well as, understanding the purpose of Jesus dying on the cross. If his word says we ALL fall short, then why should any one person petition for acceptance of their own ungodly behavior? I worry about those who call themselves believers of Jesus Christ, but practice and attempt to enforce the cultures demonstrated in the old testament. I’m talking specifically about holding people to the law and not their faith in Jesus. Christ did not come to change the law, but perfect it! He came to fulfill the prophesy, as shown in verse 21. He came so that we might have life more abundantly! Ask yourself today, do you want to be right with God, or do you want to be held true to the law?
