"LOVE IN A BOTTLE"

A LOT OF TIMES WE DON’T KNOW WHAT REAL LOVE FEELS LIKE, SO WE GO AROUND ACCEPTING COUNTERFEIT LOVE IN A BOTTLE OF SEX, MONEY, INFIDELITY, FORNICATION, ADULTERY, ABUSE, NEGLECT, HOSTILITY, DECEIT AND OTHER THINGS TRYING TO FEEL THAT REAL LOVE THAT WAS MANIFESTED ON AN OLD RUGGED CROSS.  SO WE ACCEPT THE LIES AND BROKEN PROMISES AND BROKEN RELATIONSHIPS IN HOPES OF FILLING AN EMPTINESS THAT CAN ONLY BE FILLED BY GOD.  REAL LOVE DOESN’T PURPOSELY HURT YOU OR ABUSE YOU OR USE YOU. JOHN 3:16 SAYS, FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY BEGOTTEN SON THAT WHOSOEVER BELIEVETH IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE EVERYLASTING LIFE.  THAT’S REAL LOVE.  HE DIDN’T HAVE TO DIE FOR US BUT BECAUSE OF HIS LOVE FOR US.  IT’S NOT ENOUGH TO GO TO CHURCH EVERY SUNDAY BUT YOU NEED THAT RELATIONSHIP WITH HIM. HIS LOVE IS OF COURSE UNCONDITIONAL BUT DO YOU WANT TO TAKE THAT LOVE AND PUT HIM BACK ON THAT CROSS BECAUSE YOU CHOOSE TO ALLOW THE THINGS OF THE WORLD AND THE THINGS OF THE FLESH TO OVERTAKE YOU AND CAUSE YOU TO CHOOSE THAT FALSE LOVE.  DON’T GET ME WRONG, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO GENERALLY LOVE YOU BUT LIKE THE LOVE CHRIST GAVE, YOU DON’T HAVE TO DO ANYTHING TO DESERVE THAT LOVE.  SO, WHEN SOMEONE TRIES TO GIVE YOU A BOTTLE OF THAT FAKE, COUNTERFEIT LOVE, JUST TELL THEM “I KNOW WHAT REAL LOVE FEELS LIKE AND I AM NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY COUNTERFEIT”.

"THE DEVIL IS AFTER YOUR FAITH"

How often do we hear people say that they are trusting God to do a new thing, to do exactly what he says he’s going to do or to even quote the scripture, “God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that we can ask or think”? We have probably all said it or sang it but how many of us know that it is not always that simple. We believe that because God said it, it is definitely going to coming to past. But along with the promises also come some stipulations. We have to live holy lives and live a life that is pleasing in God’s sight.  Also, the word of God will stand but you have to continue to stand on those same promises when troubles and trials come your way.  It’s easy to believe it when everything is going right, when all your bills are paid and your children are acting right and everything is fine in the home.  But when death comes and unemployment comes or drug abuse or physical abuse or alcoholism comes, where is your faith?  Do you still believe the word of God for your life?  Do you still believe that God will do exceedingly abundantly above all you can ask or think?  Well, understand that it is not your dedication that the devil wants to steal but your faith in God.  If he can get you to believe that God has forgotten you or convince you not to trust God, he has stopped everything that God has promised you.  If you don’t have the faith to believe that God will do it, then why would He do it? Hebrews 11:6 says “without faith it is impossible to please God”.  So, when trials and temptations come, stand firm on the faith and believe and know that whatever God has said, regardless of how it looks, he will stand by his word.  Keep the faith and hold on, you are closer to your breakthrough than you think.

"WHO’S COVERING YOU?"

How often have we as teenagers wanted to get out of our parent’s house so that we can do whatever we want to do? Do you ever stop to think about that praying mother and/or father who waited on you to come home, praying that God will shield and protect you? When we leave our homes where there is someone there praying and interceding each day, we are leaving our covering.  Of course that parent is still praying for you when you leave the house but she or he is also hoping that you have caught hold to that prayer life and have formed a relationship with Christ yourself. When you are praying and seeking God, you are covering yourself, your family, your job, your school and your friends. When you decide that you do not want any part of God and his word, you decide to leave behind your covering.  When you are not covered, it leaves the door open for Satan and his devices to walk into your home and wreak havoc. Yes, it is Satan’s job to come against God’s people but there is only so far he can go. Because we have the word down on the inside, we can speak against poverty, sickness and disease, confusion and anything else Satan brings to discourage, distract, disappoint, divide or destroy. When you make a decision to leave a place where prayer is constant and intercession is being made on your behalf, don’t take it lightly. Take the time to form a relationship with Christ yourself so that you will be the one covering yourself and anybody else who enters your home.  We are to pray without ceasing. That means constantly praying and seeking God. So, my question to you is, Who’s Covering You?

"YOUR HARVEST IS CONNECTED TO THE RAIN"

Galatians 6:9:  And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.  How often have we heard this scripture and often wondered when our due season is coming.  We do go through some difficult things in our lives but we have to know that in order to receive the harvest, that breakthrough, that double blessing, that exceeding and abundantly, we must first have the rain. No harvest or crops can grow without rain or water. If there is no water, the crops will dry out and be worthless. So, if we want to be what God has ordained us to be, we must realize that we must experience some rain in our lives.  There must be rain before we can receive that outpour of God’s blessings and favor on our lives.  God showers us daily with his blessings, his love, his protection, and his provisions.  Often we get caught off guard because it seems so many things are going on that God may have forgotten us.  Please believe that the God you serve loves you enough to make you into the wonderful, mature person that you are ordained to be. With that, he has to send the rain and that rain could be pain, loss of a job, broken relationships, illness or even losing your home.  These are all temporary and soon the sun will shine and your harvest will come.  But in the midst of your rain, continue to give God the praise that HE is worthy of and while you are waiting on the rain to stop, you will see God in the rain.

"OUR PURPOSE IS TO PRAISE"

How many of us go to church and get into the praise and worship and feel God delivering us and setting us free but service has to move on. We were created to give God the praise. Often in the scheme of things, we lose sight of the reason or purpose for being saved or being a Christian. Yes, God has definitely been good to us and he always makes ways for us but when we are in our trials and tests we forget. We forget that a year ago you may have been without a job or ill or even homeless but today you are working, healed and have shelter. When we get into the praise and begin to praise God for who is he, for what he has done and for what he is going to do, we will see God move like never before. Because when we are praising God no matter what, those trials and tests may get a little hard but we realize where our help comes from. When we praise God even in our pain, we see God in another light. We see God in his majesty working on our behalf. We see him opening doors and healing bodies and sending deliverance. It’s when we praise that God is able to see our faith in the test and bring speedy healing, speedy deliverance and see him do exceeding and abundantly above all we can ask or think. We should not get so caught up in a printed program that we totally miss the reason for the program. If we say that we were created for praise and our purpose is to praise God, then every chance we get we should find ourselves praising. When Psalms 150 tells us how to praise God, it’s not just words in a book but it describes to us exactly what God likes to hear in the praise. He loves the dance, the music, the songs and the words. He even tells us what to praise him for, PRAISE HIM FOR HIS MIGHT Y ACTS, PRAISE HIM ACCORDING TO HIS EXCELLENT GREATNESS. Another thing we should remember is when he says, LET EVERYTHING THAT HATH BREATH PRAISE THE LORD that means everything, everybody (saved or unsaved), black or white, rich or poor. When we talk about our purpose often we talk about what we should be doing in life and the reason we are here, basically what job should I be doing. All of those things are correct but the purpose for us being here on this earth is to PRAISE.

"YOU CAN’T STEAL MY JOY"

You know how you are waking up singing God’s praises and thanking God for another day and thanking him for all that He continues to do for you and you run into somebody that has not acknowledged God and his greatness and seem to be mad at the world.  You say good morning or good evening and they either don’t respond in a negative or nasty way. When you run into someone that seems to want to steal your joy or are not aware that they are, stop what you are doing, re-focus on God and who He is and keep moving.  If someone can steal your joy, they can steal your strength. In this day when all hell seems to be breaking loose, you need the Joy of the Lord in your life. The Joy of the Lord is your strength. On days where things seem more than you can handle, look to God and give him praise and let Him be your strength. In the midst of adversity, pain and even in sorrow, God can be your joy, your strength. It is hard at first but if you continue to re-focus and put your mind back on God, you will win every time. So, when it looks like satan is coming to steal, kill and destroy, you have to let him and anything that he sends your way know that, YOU CAN’T STEAL MY JOY.

"SPEAK INTO THE ATMOSPHERE"

When we are troubled by everything possible to man such as pain, distress, discouragement, financial difficulties, sickness and disease, disappointment and death, we often look at the negative side of things and not realize that God is still in control. Oftentimes we may say things like “things will never get better” or “I can’t take anymore”. But we have to realize that the same God that is in control, controls everything around us.

When we see the devil coming in like a flood, we have to speak the word into the atmosphere. We have to say to our situations, I am healed, I am more than a conqueror, and I can do all things through Christ who gives me the strength. The devil wants us to deny God or not have enough faith to believe that God is going to do exactly what He says he is going to do. So we have to defeat the devil with our words. We have to say, I am an heir of God and a joint heir with Jesus Christ. I am the head and not the tail. I am a lender and not a borrower. By his stripes I am healed.  When we can continue to say these things out loud and begin to believe God and what his word says, we will see our atmosphere changing. So go ahead, Speak into the Atmosphere.

"DON’T FORGET THE PROMISES"

I know it seems sometimes that all that you have strived to do in Christ seems in vain. You have worked hard in the church and in the community to be the best you possibly can be. But in the midst of your working hard each day to be an example for Christ, satan begins to throw all kinds of darts in your way. Your finances, your health, your family and even your job all seem to come under attack. But I am here to tell you that no matter what satan throws in your way, remember all of the promises God has given you in his word and call God at his word.

If he promised to give you perfect peace if you keep your mind stayed on him, HE WILL DO JUST THAT.  If he promised to supply all of your needs according to his riches in glory; God will indeed supply your needs.  If he promised never to leave you nor forsake you; know that you are never alone. If he says that weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning; say, “it’s morning and I have my joy.  If he says you are the head and not the tail; know that it may seem like you are at the bottom of the list, you have to know like Shirley Caesar says, YOU ARE NEXT IN LINE FOR A MIRACLE, FOR A BREAKTHROUGH. So, wait for the promises of God and they will be revealed.

"HE GIVES PEACE"

Have you ever been a situation that was frustrating, confusing and sometimes even heart breaking and in the midst of that you feel peace?!!! Even when it seems everything is going wrong around you, you still experience that peace and calmness that seems unreal? But when you feel the peace that passeth understanding please know that this peace comes from God.

HE is the only one that can calm you down when it seems all hell is breaking loose. HE is the only one that can make you feel like everything is going to be alright even when it looks like there is no hope. God promises to give us peace. God’s word says John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be fearful, and John 16:33  says “These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.”  God knows that trouble will come. He knows that situations will come but He wants you to know that when they do come, please know that he has you and He will give you peace in the midst of the storms.

"JOY COMES IN THE MORNING"

How often have we heard those words, “joy comes in the morning”? Weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning.  What we have to realize is that these are not just words but THE WORD. Meaning, if it’s in the book (the bible) and God says it, that settles it. It does not matter what comes or goes; it does not matter what satan throws in your way to discourage you, to try to make you lose focus or to deter you. If HE said it, won’t he make it good!!!

God is not slack concerning his promises. Men and women may promise you something and forget about the promises they have made but we can count on God to do just what he said he would do. Yes things will come to hurt you and to cause you to feel like you are all alone and nobody cares but you have to know the word that says, he will never leave you or forsake you. Joy will come!! So begin to see the end of your pain and the end of uncomfortable situations and say, hey, it’s morning, Joy is here and before you know it; the Joy that you have been waiting for will be there.
