27-31You are Christ’s body—that’s who you are! You must never forget this. Only as you accept your part of that body does your “part” mean anything. You’re familiar with some of the parts that God has formed in his church, which is his “body”:
apostles
prophets
teachers
miracle workers
healers
helpers
organizers
those who pray in tongues.
It’s obvious by now, isn’t it, that Christ’s church is a complete Body and not a gigantic, one-dimensional Part? It’s not all Apostles, not all Prophets, not all Miracle Workers, not all Healers, not all Prayer in Tongues, not all Interpreter of Tongues. And yet some of you keep competing for so-called “important” parts. But now, I want to lay out a far better way for you.
Beloved, Christ saved us and placed us in His Body for His use and not for our agenda to show ourselves more “holy” than one another.
Beloved, these scriptures written in I Corinthians 12:27-31, teach us that surely every true believer makes up a part of Christ’s Body{His Church}. This is a fact and we must never forget it! Only when we can accept our “part” in Christ’s Body, will we have meaning for ourselves.
Beloved, you are familiar with some of the parts that are listed above that God has formed in the Body of Christ. If we have not yet realized what part we are, then it behooves us to ask God to reveal who we are in Christ’s Church. When we fail to recognize which part we are, we begin competing for so-called “important” parts, which causes confusion, problems in the body, and we know God is not in confusion.
Beloved, there is no need for us to compete for the so-called “important” Parts, in Christ’s Body {the Church}! Apostle Paul explains that there is a more excellent way to function in the Body of Christ, which is from the perspective of love. For God is Love, and the Love of God commands us to love one another.
Beloved, I want to leave you with this one God given confident; it is obvious that we might not all be equal in terms of talents and intelligence, but God Has given Himself equally to every part of the Body of Christ.
Therefore beloved, we can rest assured that the Christ in us is more than able to accomplish our parts in His Body, which our Heavenly Father has pre-ordained in us!
