"God and His Timing"

Many of us have absolute faith in God but not in His timing. We never laid it to heart that, “faith in God includes faith in His timing.”
Having faith in God is great, much more, having faith in His timing compliments for the desired miracle and expectation.

It is an expression of confidence in God’s ability.
“Jesus looked at them intently and said, “Humanly speaking, it is impossible. But with God everything is possible.” Matthew 19:26 (NLT)

It is trusting in the ways, approaches and the routes God is taking you through in order to demonstrate His ability. It might be longer, shorter or tiresome. It is His prerogative.
“Then they gathered around him and asked him, “Lord, are you at this time going to restore the kingdom to Israel?” He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.” Acts 1:6-7 (NLT)

Joseph believed in the ability of God to deliver him but God did not do it when he thought was the perfect time.
“This is what the dream means,” Joseph said. “The three branches represent three days. Within three days Pharaoh will lift you up and restore you to your position as his chief cup-bearer. And please remember me and do me a favor when things go well for you. Mention me to Pharaoh, so he might let me out of this place.” Genesis 40:12-14 (NLT)
Joseph was sure that in three days, his deliverance could be guaranteed.
“Pharaoh’s birthday came three days later, and he prepared a banquet for all his officials and staff. He summoned his chief cup-bearer and chief baker to join the other officials. He then restored the chief cup-bearer to his former position, so he could again hand Pharaoh his cup.” Genesis 40:20-21 (NLT)
But that was not the timing of God. He shut the mind of the chief cup-bearer. He forgot within three days.

“Pharaoh’s chief cup-bearer, however, forgot all about Joseph, never giving him another thought.” Genesis 40:23 (NLT)

Sometimes, where you expect help, favor or deliverance from might not be the avenue God wants to use. If God does not send such your way, then you can’t get it from there. He knows what will ultimately give Him glory and He does not want to share His glory with no one. (Isaiah 42:8) Rather than getting upset or even for someone disappointing you or for dashing your expectation, count it all joy.
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.” James 1:2-4 (NLT)

It was after two years that the perfect timing came for Joseph.
“Two full years later, Pharaoh dreamed…The next morning Pharaoh was very disturbed by the dreams. So he called for all the magicians and wise men of Egypt. When Pharaoh told them his dreams, not one of them could tell him what they meant….Finally, the king’s chief cup-bearer spoke up. “Today I have been reminded of my failure,” he told Pharaoh. “Some time ago, you were angry with the chief baker and me, and you imprisoned us in the palace of the captain of the guard. One night the chief baker and I each had a dream, and each dream had its own meaning. There was a young Hebrew man with us in the prison who was a slave of the captain of the guard. We told him our dreams, and he told us what each of our dreams meant. And everything happened just as he had predicted. I was restored to my position as cup-bearer, and the chief baker was executed and impaled on a pole. Pharaoh sent for Joseph at once, and he was quickly brought from the prison. After he shaved and changed his clothes, he went in and stood before Pharaoh.” Genesis 41:1-14 (NLT)

Remember, He makes all things beautiful in His time. (Ecclesiastes 3:11)
