6-7So be content with who you are, and don’t put on airs. God’s strong hand is on you; he’ll promote you at the right time. Live carefree before God; he is most careful with you.
8-11Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.
I Peter 5:6-11
Beloved children of the Most High God, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in times like these, you need to stay true to who you are in Christ. You must not put on airs or live a life of reacting to people or your circumstances. In times like these, we will have to give some folks passes to shines as much as they want, without losing our humanity. For we know that humanity maintain peace and Godly order; while pride brings a reproach upon Christian churches, and societies. How you might ask, by trying to obtain gratification and ambition from what the world calls success.
Beloved, this passage of scripture, is admonishing the children of God to be humble and subject to our God, in doing so, He will provide us much more comfort to the soul than you can get from gratification and ambition. God desires that we cast our cares on him and live a carefree existence, declaring what His word says about us, over us, praying and waiting on His response; not pretending that we “got this” and we don’t need nobody’s help. God desires to give us His wisdom, faith and holiness, he desires our loyalty, He wants us to wait on His timing and not on our timing.
Beloved, no matter what, God gets the last word; what difficulties that you know that can stand against the firm belief of his wisdom, power and goodness provides, when His hands is upon us? If you answered as I did, I just know you said, NONE! Okay, than let us humble ourselves under His hands, let us cast all cares; personal care, family care, cares for the present, and cares for the future, cares for others, cares for the church on God.
Beloved, Matthew Henry, commentator says it so eloquent what our duty is to be while we wait on the Lord. He said,” Our duty plainly is, to be sober; to govern both the outward and the inward man by the rules of temperance. To be vigilant; suspicious of constant danger from this spiritual enemy, watchful and diligent to prevent his designs. Be steadfast, or solid, by faith. A man cannot fight upon a quagmire, there is no standing without firm ground to tread upon; this faith alone furnishes. It lifts the soul to the firm advanced ground of the promises, and fixes it there.” Amen!
Sister Betty, God said it, and that settles it!
