Hebrews, 13, v. 7: Remember your leaders who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.
Jesus is the number one spiritual leader in our lives. It is his faith that I would like to imitate. The disciples had doubt. Jesus had no doubt in his mind that with God the impossible is possible. Jesus believed that God the Father would always take care of his needs. Like Jesus we should believe that God is able to do what he said he would do in our lives. Unbelief can cause us to be in a wilderness longer than we should. Do not wait until you get your promise to show gratitude to the Father. Praise your way through your trials and circumstances. We should not let our forgetfulness cause us to rebel against our Creator. We rebel against God when we do not believe what he has promised us. We rebel against God when we start trusting ourselves, and our own abilities. We rebel against God when we put our trust in our jobs, our homes, our education, our intelligence, our spouses, our relationships with others, and idols, instead of putting our trust in God. God is our Security. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not on thine own understanding but in all thy ways acknowledge him and he shall direct your path (Proverbs, 3: v.5-6) Even when we rebel through forgetfulness, doubt, and unbelief….God is still faithful and Just to honor the promises he made to us. We have sinned, even as our fathers did, we have done wrong and acted wickedly (Psalm 106: v. 6). They (the children of Israel) gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindness and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea (v.7), yet he saved them for his name’s sake to make his mighty power known (v.8). He rebuked the Red Sea and it dried up (v. 9). God will rebuke the Devourer. Even when we rebel through complaining and ungratefulness; he still is faithful and just to honor the promises he made to us (Psalm 106:25, 30, 31). He saved them from the hand of the foe; from the hand of the enemy he redeemed them (v. 10). The waters covered their adversaries; not one of them survived (v. 11). Then they believed his promises and sang his praise (v. 12).
Listen my dear brothers, has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom, he promised to those who love him? (James 2, v. 5). Meditate and think on the many miracles God has already performed in your life. Finally, brethren whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise think on these things (Philippians 4:v.8). I have to remind myself to think on the good things he has already done. Dear Lord forgive the reasoning and doubt that sometimes arises when my way is not clear. For, it is a miracle that he allowed you and me to see another day. It is a miracle that you can read the words in this article. It is a miracle that you still got food on your table, clothes on your back, shoes on your feet, and water in your cup.Thank God for what you already have. God is ever gracious and merciful to us, his people. He is faithful even when we are unfaithful. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever (Hebrews 13: v. 8). Save us, O Lord and gather us from the nations that we may give thanks to your holy name and glory in your praise (Psalm 106: v. 47). Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel from everlasting to everlasting. Let all the people say “Amen!” Praise the Lord. He is ever faithful and unchanging. Everybody ought to hold to his hand. God’s unchanging Hand. Hold to God’s unchanging hand. You ought to hold to his hand. Build your hopes on things eternal and hold to God’s unchanging hand.
