27 In toil and hardship, watching often [through sleepless nights], in hunger and thirst, frequently driven to fasting by want, in cold and exposure and lack of clothing.
Apostle Paul had a close encounter with the sin kind of man, not television aliens but a close encounter with men who were supposed to share the same zeal, love and faith. Yet he often discovered because of the sin kind he felt rejected, alone and out matched. As a reminder, Jesus fore warned us to count up the cost. Luke 14: 25-28
25 Large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and turning to them he said: 26 “If anyone comes to me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters—yes, even their own life—such a person cannot be my disciple. 27 And whoever does not carry their cross and follow me cannot be my disciple.
28 “Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Won’t you first sit down and estimate the cost to see if you have enough money to complete it?
When we embark on a life long commitment to serving Jesus, it’s going to cost you many perils. But the good news is when you transition from perils you transform into a pearl.
“Pearl is a hard object produced within the soft tissue (specifically the mantle) of a living shelled mollusk. Just like the shell of a mollusk, a pearl is made up of calcium carbonate in minute crystalline form, which has been deposited in concentric layers. The ideal pearl is perfectly round and smooth, but many other shapes of pearls (baroque pearls) occur. The finest quality natural pearls have been highly valued as gemstones and objects of beauty for many centuries, and because of this, the word pearl has become a metaphor for something very rare, fine, admirable, and valuable.
The most valuable pearls occur spontaneously in the wild, but they are extremely rare. These wild pearls are referred to as natural pearls.. Imitation pearls are also widely sold in inexpensive jewelry, but the quality of their iridescence is usually very poor, and often, artificial pearls are easily distinguished from genuine pearls.” Amplified Bible (AMP)
44 The kingdom of heaven is like [a]something precious buried in a field, which a man found and hid again; then in his joy he goes and sells all he has and buys that field.
45 Again the kingdom of heaven is like a man who is a dealer in search of fine and [b]precious pearls,
46 Who, on finding a single pearl of great price, went and sold all he had and bought it. Once you complete your walk and ministry with Christ the reward far out weights all the perils. Keep your hand in the Master Hand and remember Christ paid the price from perils to pearls.
