There will be times when God has to tell us hard things (or things that we just don’t want to hear or do). I now know how my children feel at times when I have to say hard things to them.
What I have found is that the reason it’s so difficult to hear these things is because I never ask God for anything hard. When He tells me something hard, like “go and humble yourself and apologize” to someone who I feel has hurt or wronged me, sometimes I think to myself “But Lord, this is too hard. It’s so much easier to stay justifiably mad and talk about how wrong they treated me!”.
Remember when you were still out there in the world? You wanted everything easy, and most of the time it did come easy. Easy money, easy men/women, easy living, easy job, easy tests, easy-going… it was just plain easy to do what you chose to do. And, life was not challenging us to do anything hard, so when it did give us a hard lesson you might say “I bought them senses.”
God tells us hard things because when we go through hard lessons for the Kingdom’s sake they grow us, bless others through our testimonies and most importantly bring glory to God.
So how about it? Are you willing to hear hard things from God so that you can get to where He wants you to be? In John 6:60 Therefore many of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?” The disciples did not understand Jesus’ ways and because of that in John 6:66 the scripture says “From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more”. I may not understand all of the hard things that God is telling me to do, but I don’t want to be like the disciples that day who thought that it was just too hard to be open and understanding of the hard things that Jesus was saying and ultimately gave up.
Today, let’s remember that the Christian life is not meant to be the easy road, so let us ask and seek God to help us with the hard things. Praise God!

Amen sister! This is so true. We as christians sometimes expect the Lord to move when we want Him to but we all know that is not the way things work. Just like in our daily lives we have to work for what we want. It is the same concerning our spiritual lives. I really enjoyed your post. May the Lord continue to crown your head with the knowledge to pass along to others.
