Read Mark 10:17-22
OK. Confession.
These next few get under my skin a little bit. Same reason, as usual. (Rom. 3:4) He’s right, I’m wrong….moving on…
Plain and simple. In the Father’s point of view, in order to keep His gift, we must give it away. Please, consider carefully. It’s in these kind of places that I share with people something given me by my predecessors about “meditating”…
…that word comes from old Hebrew slang among livestock owners and handlers, meaning “chew the cud,”which means to think deeply about something, digest it, until circumstances bring it up again, then we think deeply about that thing again, until it becomes more clear
… now hear what He’s saying to the rich young ruler (some of us think he’s the one who wrote this gospel account)…”one thing thou lackest”…then He lists all these different things He encourages Him to do.
Wait up! I thought he lacked one thing here. What’s happening here?
Simple. It takes “power.”
Power the young man didn’t have. It really takes the power of God to give away what we long to keep.
